State Public Health Organization Testimony Responses to South Carolina Legislature Regarding Covid-19 era Management
When is testimony perjury?
South Carolina held a joint legislative meeting called the “Pandemic Response Preparedness Listening Session on September 12, 2023. For your information, this was the session where Dr. Phillip Buckhaults made news by reporting on plasmid particles in SARS-CoV-2 countermeasure vials. Even though this followed McKernan’s report by several months, for some reason his report made more “news.”
An important issue and theme of the presenters was the behavior of South Carolina’s Public Health Department, called “Department of Health and Environmental Control” at the time of the hearing.
The presentations and pre-submissions of that hearing are here:
Discussion and videos associated with the session can be found here:
The hearing was actually held while the legislature was not in session. In SC, the legislature meets (technically) in a the spring (Jan-June-ish) each year. The current session just started January 9, 2024. The issues of Covid-19 management have not been addressed since that PPLS session.
The bills in the current session dealing directly with Covid-19/Healthcare and indirectly with it and related education issues are found in a running status report here:
Going back to the record of testimonies for the PPLS hearing in September, one of the prefiled testimonies is the one provided by DHEC. It’s link is:
This file is too large to reproduce here. The scenario I want to set up is: Suppose this was presented before a committee where perjury was a consequence of misinformation or misleading testimony. The question is: What testimony in this DHEC response should be considered for a charge of perjury?
I have an example that I have published here on substack:
Both the prefile DHEC response and the testimony in session are, in my mind, clearly perjury if that consequence were in force during for this session. What do you think?
Is there anyone, particularly South Carolinians, who would be willing to go through the prefile documentation linked above and point out, in the comments below, what comments in that document should be nominated as perjury?
